Grants for Teachers

REACH Grant

  • Deadline: 1st of every month except December
  • Maximum Award: $1,000
  • Cost-share: Not required but is requested
  • Principal signature required
  • Educators receiving funds must be from a public school located in Arkansas
  • Educators receiving funds must teach one or more humanities fields of study, including Anthropology, Archeology, English Language Arts, Ethics, History, Language studies, Literacy, and Social Studies
  • Humanities-based pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade classroom projects
  • Classroom projects must have a strong humanities component
  • Professional development for teachers and school librarians
  • Professional development such as conferences, workshops, seminars, or webinars, virtual or in-person (in-state only)
  • Funds for professional development may be used for registration, travel costs, books, or other teaching aids
  • Educators receiving funds for professional development must agree to disseminate content learned to colleagues at their school, district, and/or education cooperative
  • School supplies to offset costs to teachers and families
  • Supplies may include pens, pencils, paper, scissors, hand sanitizer, tissue, paper towels, folders, binders, glue sticks, erasers, crayons, storage, rulers, index cards, and/or similar items

Arkansas State Parks Field Trip Grant

  • Deadlines: First of each month except December
  • Maximum Award: $1,000
  • Funds provided by Arkansas State Parks
  • Cost-share: N/A
  • Teachers may apply to take students to one of Arkansas’s 53 state parks
  • Students must be in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade
  • Teachers must contact the park interpreter prior to applying to schedule programming
  • Funds may not be used to travel and lead programs independently of an Arkansas State Park interpreter

Helen T. Leigh Museum Field Trip Grant

  • Deadlines: First of each month except December
  • Maximum Award: $750
  • Cost-share: N/A
  • Funds provided by Mrs. Helen T. Leigh
  • Funds for this initiative are to be used by schools to participate in a guided tour and programming at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History
  • Teachers must schedule a tour and programming with MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History prior to applying
  • Grades 3 through 12 are eligible
  • Public community colleges are eligible
