HumanitiesAR connects people from all walks of life through the culture, history, and stories of the Natural State, with the goal of providing an inclusive commonplace for educational learning and capturing the imagination through a diverse lens of programs including seminars, workshops, lectures, exhibitions, and more.
To achieve its purpose, we award grants through a competitive process to nonprofit groups and organizations that allow them to plan and conduct projects in the humanities for Arkansas audiences, in addition to teachers and schools for professional development credits and engaging learning opportunities outside of the classroom.
We strive to lead the way in creating safe spaces and community pillars for conversation and learning that work to continuously evolve our state and its citizens.
You’re sure to find a program that interests you.
When kids learn about the humanities, they develop empathy and compassion toward others. Become a Hugh Manatee Kids Club member today to help your child or student develop essential skills in today’s world.
HumanitiesAR works to promote understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultural heritage of the state of Arkansas, including the LGBTQ+ community.
